Chelsea and Southend United have agreed a date for the F.A.Cup third round meeting at Stamford Bridge. This will NOT be a televised game and the match has been scheduled for 15:00 on Saturday 3rd January 2009. An announcement of the precise ticket allocation has yet to be made, but it is widely expected to be 6000+ but more detail will follow on that... |

Jean Francois Christophe has returned to Portsmouth before completing his loan spell at Southend United after succumbing to a hamstring injury in our F.A.Cup Round 2 match against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon, which will have kept him on the sidelines for two-four weeks anyway. He was due to complete his loan on Saturday at the Walkers Stadium where we are due to face Leicester City, League 1 leaders... |

Femi Orenuja wrote his name into the 102 year old history books of Southend United yesterday with his three minute appearance at the end of our match against Luton Town. He came on to replace Junior Stanislas whose debut for Southend United saw the West Ham United youngster help himself to a brace of goals courtesy of a contentious free kick in the 1st half & a header with less that 10 minutes remaining... |
